Measures we’re taking
How we’re ensuring workers know how to keep themselves safe from exposure to COVID-19
- Quest works hard to ensure regular communication and updates to our team with regular emails and at team meetings including during specific pandemic related training opportunities
How we’re screening for COVID-19
Quest is currently using both Passive and Active screening practices which includes:
- Having all Quest team members complete a self-screening tool prior to the start of their workday
- Posting screening information on our website and at all places where we deliver service
- Phone screening clients prior to making an in-person appointment
- Actively screening all persons who are entering Quest and/or attending for in-person services
How we’re controlling the risk of transmission in our workplace
Physical distancing and separation
- Shifting to virtual care arrangements where appropriate
- Rearranging waiting areas to ensure proper distancing
- Staggering appointment times
- Visual cues ensuring both physical distancing, proper use of PPE, and regarding appropriate isolation if and when experience symptoms
Cleaning
- Disinfection in clinical areas following each client appointment
- Ensuring adherence to all infection prevention and control (IPAC) protocols
Other
- Point of care risk assessments before every client interaction prior to outreach visits
- Requesting that all persons wear appropriate masks
- Surgical masks and eye protection for all onsite staff whenever attending to clients
- Adhering to contact and droplet precautions when interacting in person with anyone screening positive
- N95 respirators available/utilized when an aerosol-generating medical procedure is possible
- Hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette promoted and hand hygiene stations available through the building
What we will do if there is a potential case, or suspected exposure to, COVID-19 at our workplace
- Isolate the case
- Undertake risk assessment
- Inform all appropriate authorities of any probable transmission to a staff member or client
How we’re managing any new risks caused by the changes made to the way we operate our business
- Quest’s Pandemic Committee completes an Organizational Risk Assessment before any major changes
- Quest’s Joint Health & Safety Committee continues to meet regularly to monitor potential hazards and promote workplace safety as well as to provide feedback and recommendations to Quest
How we’re making sure our plan is working
- Quest meets with all our teams on a regular basis to seek feedback and input into our plan
- Quest continues to meet regularly to review procedures, monitor any incidents and review/implement all recommendations from Joint Health and Safety Committee
